Storms Hog Power Methane Reduction Project
Project Overview
The Storms Hog Power Methane Reduction Project is a gas collection and destruction project. Livestock biogas, composed primarily of methane, is collected from an anaerobic digester system. The anaerobic digester for this facility is a below-grade, plug-flow digester constructed out of concrete. The digester stores the manure and wastewater from the swine operation while collecting the gas emitted from the manure as it degrades anaerobically. The gas is destroyed in an electrical generator (genset) or open flare system.
